I do agree with a lot of points you made here. May have other variables at play; regardless of that, your points do make sense.
PS: I wasn’t implying you were misrepresenting data. My point was — it is easy for data to get misinterpreted without considering all possible variables. That’s why I brought up the example of my experience at my ex employer.
